HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALEXANDER!! :)

August 10th, 2010 Comments off

BFA is proud yet again, to organise a birthday party. This time, it would be Alex’s turn and he was sure raring to go. Started with some warm up races and an ‘accuracy’ drop kick station, the boys and girls soon picked up pace with a penalty shootout contest, followed by a proper match of two halves. The daddies soon got into the action and were promptly dealt with blows to the shins and ankles!!

Match concluded with a penalty shootout to decide the winner after normal time. Sportsmanship, and not Winning, was the order of the day, so it was nice to know the kids knew they have to help one another when one fell and to stop play when that happened.

Prizes were awarded to the players, followed by the birthday song, cakecutting and yup..bouncy castle..again :)

Welcome New Coaches

July 26th, 2010 Comments off

We officially and warmly welcome Coach Ramesh and Coach Wee Yang to BFA family.  It is a privilege to be able to coach kids and take the responsibility for others’ children and also to educate them. Football is a key to the door of acquiring many lifelong skills and positive qualities in a person. It would either take a moment or a period of time to unlock the potential in the child or teenager so we are honoured to be a part of that. :)

POST WORLD CUP BLUES

July 26th, 2010 Comments off

Back to normal days.. with nothing to look forward every evening.

To be honest, most of the matches were downright boring. The pace (what pace???) … don’t get me started… for spectators who are used to the exciting BPL, La Liga and Champions League matches , the World Cup was indeed a big letdown. Apart from having an European team winning it for the first time outside Europe, a first time winner and a few outstanding finds in the tournament, the rest is probably not worth mentioning at all.

BFA Mini Shootout Results Out!

April 19th, 2010 Comments off

Junior Category – Daniel emerged a winner here with his consistent shooting, accumulating a total score of 200 points, ahead of his rivals  Brian (120), Clement (116) and Jared (90). It is the importance of participating and doing your best and not winning all the time :0)

Senior Category – Brilliant end to a tight contest that saw Shawal, Jonathan and David tied on 160 points. Shawal managed to overcome adversity and cap off a great Sunday afternoon to win with 190 points! ahead of nearest jonathan (180) and Edris (60). Usual hotshot Edris struggled to find his form on the day but i am very sure he will improve in the next shootout contest.

BOOTMARK EXPLORER (C) 3-DAY Workshop

April 1st, 2010 Comments off

This is a FIRST ever workshop aimed at exposing the young players to football instruction.Three main objectives were to enable the players to take on the role of the coach and view from his/her perspective, to gain confidence in instructing fellow teammates through their planned training drills and to critic and improve overall play. Comprising of theory and practical sessions, the participating players were clearly enthused by their own answers and reaction to the quizzes, both involving the local and international football scene. One highlight was the DVD presentation of England’s victorious games from the 1990 World Cup into the New Millenium. Plenty of ‘Ooohs’ and ‘Aaahs’ before finally attempting to put what they have seen into practice during the two sided game..

^_^ Ethan James Goooooal

March 17th, 2010 Comments off

As the sky darkened, the boys ran, skated and rode to the park to have a round of football action to celebrate Ethan’s birthday. The so called ‘friendly’ match was not for the faint hearted.. It would have been mistaken for a World Cup Final, as the onlooking parents would have testified. Alexander was swept off his feet from a wrongly timed tackle while on a jinking run en route to goal, and the ever gungho Elise soldiered on despite the many scratches, and an own goal was scored from an attacking corner??Although Ethan’s team lost 2-3, he scored the equalising goal and he went ABSOLUTELY delirious
