Welcome New Coaches

July 26th, 2010 Comments off

We officially and warmly welcome Coach Ramesh and Coach Wee Yang to BFA family.  It is a privilege to be able to coach kids and take the responsibility for others’ children and also to educate them. Football is a key to the door of acquiring many lifelong skills and positive qualities in a person. It would either take a moment or a period of time to unlock the potential in the child or teenager so we are honoured to be a part of that. :)

POST WORLD CUP BLUES

July 26th, 2010 Comments off

Back to normal days.. with nothing to look forward every evening.

To be honest, most of the matches were downright boring. The pace (what pace???) … don’t get me started… for spectators who are used to the exciting BPL, La Liga and Champions League matches , the World Cup was indeed a big letdown. Apart from having an European team winning it for the first time outside Europe, a first time winner and a few outstanding finds in the tournament, the rest is probably not worth mentioning at all.

BFA Mini Shootout Results Out!

April 19th, 2010 Comments off

Junior Category – Daniel emerged a winner here with his consistent shooting, accumulating a total score of 200 points, ahead of his rivals  Brian (120), Clement (116) and Jared (90). It is the importance of participating and doing your best and not winning all the time :0)

Senior Category – Brilliant end to a tight contest that saw Shawal, Jonathan and David tied on 160 points. Shawal managed to overcome adversity and cap off a great Sunday afternoon to win with 190 points! ahead of nearest jonathan (180) and Edris (60). Usual hotshot Edris struggled to find his form on the day but i am very sure he will improve in the next shootout contest.

WOODGROVE VIPERS SNRS 2010

February 4th, 2010 Comments off

3 Feb marked the end of Woodgrove Sec Sch efforts to qualify for the next round in their zone tournament. We have won 1, lost 1 and drawn 2 matches.

On a personal note, i felt that we have done pretty good, given our conditions on and off the pitch, and some boys have matured in the course of the tournament and delivered the goods. Apart from the Marsiling loss (2009 national top 4), the boys gave a good account of their playing ability and a glimpse of what to expect in 2011. For exciting details, kindly search under “whistle blower”…

!Oba’s Soccer Birthday Bash!4 DEC

December 15th, 2009 Comments off

Arguably one of the most highly charged soccer birthday parties to date. Oba and gang are young football fanatics who have the potential to develop into good footballers (evident from their agility and footwork) :) Not the least deterred by the rain, the boys literally marched to the soccer court from the function room to showcase their penalty taking abilities. Needless to say, there were smiles and applause all round as the shots were taken expertly one by one. Certificates and medals were awarded, followed by the cake cutting and ‘happy birthday’ song.. Feels really good to be part of a joyous occasion and appreciated by the parents. Coach Su and Kelvin will be BACK.

Training: Free Kick Winner is…….

November 28th, 2009 Comments off

NOne Other than Ronald from Woodgrove Vipers! He is the first player in training to bend a ala beckham freekick into the top right hand corner of the goal. Not surprisingly, he is one of the fast developing players in Woodgrove Secondary School to compete for places in the ‘B’ Division team next year. With a sweet right foot and willingness to study the game, he will be watched closely by the school selectors. :)
